Product Information

If you want a perfect looking manicured lawn, cast your gaze upon Nullarbor Couch Grass! This attractive fine-leaf turf is ideal for making an impact in large public spaces, sporting fields and high traffic backyards for sports-loving families.

Nullarbor Couch is a warm season turfgrass known for its drought-tolerant and wear-tolerant. Its dense growth allows for a very low mowing height, perfect for achieving a pristine lawn. While it requires more maintenance due to its fast growth rate, the result is a resilient lawn that can stand up to kids, pets and backyard heroes looking for the best grass to play cricket or footy on!

Thriving in full sun, Nullarbor Couch requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to thrive. Its drought tolerance means less frequent watering, saving you time and money.

Adaptable to various soil types, and available year-round, freshly harvested direct from the farm, supplied in a premium quality slab-cut form with a minimum order 30m2, contact us for smaller orders. Each slab is 1.2m long and 410mm wide.

Nullarbor Couch thrives in Victoria's climate, surviving hot summers and tolerating cold frosts. Its fast lateral growth aids in self-repair from wear and tear, which means it's a great self-repairer if it cops a pounding from kids or your fur baby!

As we experience cold frosts in winter, Nullarbor Couch's hardiness helps it withstand bitey temperatures. During winter, Nullarbor Couch will enter a dormancy period, you can use an annual application of ColourGuard to improve its winter colour.

Couch lawns require frequent mowing during the growing season to remove seed heads, which are common. Mowing frequency will depend on personal preference and how much you mind the brownish tones that can develop on an unmown Couch lawn. Typically, we recommend mowing approximately every 7-10 days in summer, while Nullarbor Couch can go two months without needing a mow in winter.

With excellent drought tolerance, Nullarbor Couch requires less water than other varieties. Newly established lawns need more frequent watering. Once established, maintain your lawn with deep, infrequent watering. Early morning watering is optimal to allow the roots to absorb moisture before evaporation occurs. During prolonged dry spells, you may need to increase watering, monitor the lawn and give it a good soak if it appears dry or wilted. Otherwise, Nullarbor Couch can thrive on just rain.
