WA61 Castlemaine

Originally mined during the gold rush of the 1800s, it became part of the ASQ family in 1982. In 1984, the site was issued a Work Authority for the extraction of gravel to supply local government and CRB for road works. By 2015, the site had exhausted its resources, prompting the establishment of a new rehabilitation plan that considered the encroachment of residential developments.

Following consultations with the local council and community, it was decided to transform the land into an industrial estate. A planning permit for this development was granted in 2016. In 2022, significant earthworks were undertaken, converting the vast open area into an eight-lot industrial estate named Gold Hill Estate in Miners Court. The estate and street names were chosen to reflect the area's historical significance.

After establishing the industrial estate, the landscaping yard underwent a major redevelopment. It evolved into a full-service garden and landscape centre featuring a custom-designed, locally built nursery, café, and giftware spaces. The redeveloped ASQ Garden & Landscape Castlemaine opened in February 2023 at 3 Miners Court, Castlemaine.

Construction began on the Castlemaine premix concrete plant at 8 Miners Court in 2023, marking a significant milestone in the site's development. ASQ Premix Concrete opened in February 2024, enhancing our capacity to serve concreters, landscapers, and various industries throughout Mount Alexander Shire.

Together, ASQ Premix Concrete and ASQ Garden & Landscape serve as key suppliers in the region.
